Who can use OUT
OUT Messenger is for people aged 18 and over. By using OUT you accept these terms and community rules.
No tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users
You agree not to send, request or encourage content that is abusive, harassing, hateful, threatening, sexually explicit, or that sexualises or endangers a child, and not to use OUT for illegal activity, spam, impersonation or fraud. There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behaviour. Accounts reported for it are removed.
Reporting and blocking
Every conversation lets you report a message or a person and block them immediately. Blocking rejects their future delivery and erases the chat from your iPhone. Reports reach us with a fixed abuse category and no message text, because messages are end-to-end encrypted and we cannot read them.
What we do with a report
Reports are reviewed within 24 hours. Accounts found to have sent objectionable content are ejected from the service, and the OUT ID behind them is disabled.
Content filtering on your iPhone
Because OUT cannot read your messages, filtering happens on your iPhone: incoming text that looks abusive is covered with a warning until you choose to open it. You can turn this off in Settings.
Removing content
You can delete any message from the conversation at once — for yourself, and for the other person while it is still on their iPhone. Messages disappear by themselves after they are read.
Subscriptions
OUT Plus is an optional annual subscription billed by Apple. It renews annually unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel it in your Apple subscription settings. The Apple Standard End User License Agreement also applies.
No warranty
OUT is provided as is, without warranty of any kind. You are responsible for what you send. We may suspend access for anyone who breaks these rules. OUT is not an emergency service.
Trademarks
WhatsApp, Signal, iCloud, iPhone, App Store, Cellebrite and Magnet Forensics are trademarks of their respective owners. OUT Messenger is not affiliated with them. Cases mentioned on our website are summarised from public news reporting, and the forensic extraction demo is an illustration, not a recording of a real examination.
